Tree Agate is a stone of inner tranquility and is considered to be a Talisman in a few parts of India. Agate primarily consists of cryptocrystalline silica, mostly chalcedony, alternating with microgranular quartz. The fineness of grain and variety of color in agate is one of the most striking features of agate. Found in various kinds of host rock, agates are commonly associated with volcanic rocks. They are also common in a few metamorphic rocks.

When we talk about tree agate it might not belong to the agate family technically if seen scientifically as it is not banned but it is still a member of the agate family. The name has been taken from the Greek term for tree-like. Usually, this type of agate displays tree or fern-like manganese and iron inclusions and is usually colorless, grey or white. Tree agate can be found in Uruguay, India, and Brazil and it is also termed as Dendritic Agate.
